Heirloom Garden
The Heritage Garden highlights many types of vegetables that have been passed down thru the generations. Here we plant strictly heirloom varieties of crops, open pollinated plants which pass on similar characteristics from the parent plant to the offspring. Many consider plants to be heirlooms if they were grown before the 1950’s. Heirloom crops are chosen by farmers for their exceptional taste and their higher nutritional content than hybrids. Farmers also take pride in the fact that these plants have history to them and know that ancestors cultivated and ate the same crops. Here at CFG we are committed to preserving this rich agricultural heritage.
